And Then We Exhale

Life is busy…um, life is crazy busy. Life is good…crazy good! To say that the husband and I are loving life is, well, to be perfectly honest, maybe not the whole truth. Our complete joy and happiness in having our precious little boy is overwhelming. We love being parents, we love looking and playing with Walter. We love how he is starting to smile and become engaged with his world around him.

But man…are thing hard…crazy hard right now! For me, it’s my busiest month of the year at work. Many days I’m at work by 6:45am, not leaving until after 5pm. The other day I only saw Walter for 3 hours…3 hours! I could have cried. But, I held it in. The husband is busy…crazy busy watching Walter and trying to get some work done during naps and quiet play times. He spends a lot of late nights on the computer…and on the couch…working hard. The other day, I maybe only saw him for 3 hours…3 hours! When did are family become like passing ships in the night? Two full time working parents and a 4 1/2 month old. Wow…I now have a new appreciation for all the working families out there. And I mean WORKING! And understanding that some days, you have to remember to breath and exhale because your running around so fast that you almost forget what day of the week it is. But, even though it’s crazy hectic right now, it’s totally worth it. It’s worth it every time we see Walter smile at us. Every time he quietly snuggles in our arms. Every time he coos with happiness when we have play time. Every time his makes another little milestone in his life. We breathe in every moment. And then we exhale, and do it all over again the next day.

It gets better . . .it gets better. . . it gets better. . . (repeat until you believe it or fall asleep from sheer exhaustion!)
