Snow! Snow! Come Out In The Snow!
This post is dedicated to Christine O. and Tina H., who have constantly berated me to update my blog.
Well, it has been awhile since I blogged, and for this I am truly sorry! It has been a whirlwind to say the least since the last post, when Walter was 2 months old. I have since gone back to work, Walter is sleeping well at night (waking only once to eat), and we are looking forward to our 4 month well visit at the pediatrician’s on Tuesday. I missed posting about Christmas and New Year’s (we had a nice holiday) and about going back to work (hard, very hard, but doing OK because I actually do enjoy my job and like the people I work with).
This past weekend we received the infamous “wintry mix” in the Triangle. What we ended up with was about 5 inches of snow on Saturday followed by a lot of sleet and freezing rain. The low tonight is 10 degrees…yes, 10 degrees. The roads were “cleared” by plows this weekend, which only served to make the roads worse by leaving about 1-2 inches of snow and ice on the roads to freeze over night. Our office is closed tomorrow, so I am looking forward to spending another day with my little man.
Walter turned 4 months old on Saturday. He is making lots of sounds – grunts, cooing, and other sounds we can’t really describe. He is very vocal (right, Mom?) and I think he really wants to start talking (even though that is many months away). He looks like a skydiver when we place him on his stomach for tummy time, and he is starting to kick and splash in the bathtub. We have a wonderfully active and engaging baby, who I think is going to keep us on our toes.
One of the fun new experiences was introducing Walter to his first snow! Although he is too young to appreciate the snow (especially in an area of the country where we typcially do not get a lot of snow, so any amount of snow is very exciting), we got a kick out of seeing him enjoy the winter weather. We (read: me) built a snowman on the back deck, and the dogs had a great time running around and digging in the snow. Below are some pictures from the day (my dear sweet husband layed in the snow to get these great shots):
Our snowman Ned!

Ned and Walter (who did surprisingly well sitting in the snow – ooh, cold!)
I stick my tongue out at you!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE those pictures. The one of you and Walter (faces) is so awesome. Yeah for an extra day home with a beautiful little man.
Oh, those eyes. Walter, you are adorable. And your Mommy makes a really nice snowman.
