Walter James

On Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 1:27 a.m., Walter James entered the world and totally changed our lives forever. He is the sweetest little boy I have every laid eyes on, and he is a beautiful blessing from God. My husband and I are overwhelmed with love and joy for our new son!
To say that this is only the second times I’ve sat down in front of a computer during the past week is absolutely true. As any mom can attest, a new born takes up most of your day (although I wouldn’t have it any other way). I’m fortunate enough to have 12 weeks of maternity leave, so over the next few months, I hope to post more pictures of how Walter is growing.
Backing up to last week, we had a wonderful experience at the hospital. The nurses were awesome and the facilities were great. Our OB was wonderful during the labor and delivery, and we were fortunate enough to be able to stay in the hospital for almost three days. We came home last Friday afternoon, and we have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know our son. Sure, all he really does right now is eat, cry, sleep, pee and poop, but I find him so amazing and I cannot hardly take my eyes off of him. I’m cherishing these sweet times now because I know that he will grow up so fast.
The dogs have responded well to Walter. Sydney is very curious and likes to sniff and stare at Walter. River doesn’t really seem to bother with him, but then again River doesn’t really get excited about other dogs on our walk like Sydney does. River is cool as a cucumber and seems to be taking the change all in stride. Sydney is a little more sensitive, and probably a little jealous. But she looks at Walter with intense curiosity and a little concern when he cries. We’re hoping to take our first family walk tomorrow (the weather is suppose to be cooler, and we’re looking forward to testing out the BOB stroller).
Below are some more pictures of our beautiful baby boy. More to come for sure!

Congrats, little mama!
He is beautiful and I know you and J are enjoying this experience immensely. I also know someone else (Walter’s Mimi) who can’t get enough of him. Children are such a blessing from God!
Walter is a precious baby! Melanie, your are now an official parental unit. Isn’t it wonderful! I can’t wait to see Walter again soon.
I too can’t wait to see him again. We have some gifts for him at home. Today my baby turned 16. It does go by VERY VERY fast. Continue to enjoy him and I hope you enjoyed your walk!
