32 Weeks
My camera is MIA so I don’t have any 32 week belly pictures to post, but I can let you know that my belly is getting bigger!
The past couple of weeks have been pretty eventful. My brother’s wedding was last weekend in Wilmington, NC. He married a wonderful girl and we all had a lot of fun visiting with family and celebrating the happy couple. The hubs and I also finished up our Preparing for Childbirth classes at the hospital. It was a five week course that went over preparing for labor and delivery and caring for a new born. It was very helpful and I learned a lot (I just hope I remember everything when the baby comes)!
We have another doctor’s appointment this Tuesday, and another Labor Support class – this class geared for women who want to do natural childbirth. Now, my full intent is to go natural, but I am not opposed to drugs if it gets beyond intense to tolerate. At the end of the month we have a class on how to properly install a child car seat and finally in September we have a class on how to breastfeed. At the end of the month we are having our first baby shower, thrown by my brother and sister-in-law, at my parent’s house in Winston-Salem. I’m looking forward to seeing friends and family again!
In the meantime, the hubs and I are just trying to get ready – and make room – for the new addition. I cleared out some drawers in the kitchen yesterday to make room for baby stuff – bibs, washclothes, bottles, etc. We put together a papasan cradle swing for the baby that plays nature sounds and features a musical mobile over the swing for baby to look at. I want to start washing the baby clothes and blankets that we already have so I can start stocking the dresser and closet.
In some ways I feel that eight weeks is forever away and some ways I feel that eight weeks is going to happen overnight. It’s the same feeling I’ve had during the pregnancy – some times I feel like it’s gone by really fast and other times I feel like I’ve been pregnant forever! I guess because every waking moment I think about being pregnant (and at this stage, it’s kind of hard not to, when you are waddling instead of walking and it’s really hard to roll over in bed at night). But, I have a sneaking suspicion that the next eight weeks are going to fly by and we’ll be mom and dad before you know it!
