“Oh, thanks! I’ve actually been looking forward to being with you! It means the baby is close now!”
“Oh yes. The baby is getting closer. In about 12 weeks, life as you know it will be completely different. Enjoy your last 12 weeks.”
At the beginning of every school year at UNC, my friends and I would line up at Student Stores to purchase very expensive and very boring text books for the first semester, along with various school supplies. The lines were always long, and the books always so heavy. It was a right of passage, a signal that summer was over and that long nights at the library and many cans of Diet Coke were in our immediate future. Between class (which of course was the reason we were at UNC), different social functions (read late night pizza and movie parties) and participating in campus activities (read football games and hearing local bands at Cat’s Cradle), it was hard to keep up with where we were suppose to be and at what time. Sure, I had the entire aerobics schedule at the Student Rec Center memorized but did I know when I my Shakespeare class was? The Carolina Week-by-Week
As many of you know, we adopted Sydney in September 2006 when she was just about 10 weeks old. She weighed 16 pounds and was such a curious and inquisitive little pup. We adopted her after spending a weekend volunteering at an adopt-a-thon with the Franklin County Humane Society at a PetSmart in Wake Forest. Sydney was one of seven new pups on display and up for adoption that weekend. Her mom, a Labrador Retriever was found pregnant and alone, wandering in Franklin County one day. The animal shelter picked her up and she was scheduled to be put down, until a kind soul with the FCHS rescued Sydney’s mom. A week later she delivered a litter of seven dark brown and black puppies.
This week we added a new piece of furniture to the house – a crib! We found a great crib online at JC Penney, and my mother-in-law graciously gave us the crib and mattress as a gift. The crib is solid wood with a nice cherry finish. It converts into a toddler day bed and [...]
