Clean Closet
Yesterday I cleared out the winter clothes from my closet and took an inventory of summer clothes I may or may not be able to wear during the pregnancy. There weren’t many summer clothes I took out (and I couldn’t help but wonder if I would ever fit into them again…). I’ve already purchased a few maternity clothes; I’d like to get a few more basics for work. I was pretty successful at Motherhood a few weeks ago, and then at Kid to Kid (a consignment store for toys, baby clothes and maternity clothes). I walked into A Pea in the Pod once, and turned right back around after I looked at a pair of $245 designer maternity jeans. Um, if I’m going to spend that much on jeans, they are going to be on a pair of skinny jeans when I lose the pregnancy weight.
In addition to taking a closet inventory yesterday, I also inventoried my shoes and wondered what pairs I should put away (perhaps all the high heels?). I’m worried my feet are going to swell (which they probably will) and I’ll be forced to wear my Crocs to work. I’m more concerned that my feet will not shrink back down after the pregnancy – I’ve heard of this happening to women! Their feet change size and then none of their shoes fit anymore! How tragic! But then, it would be a good excuse to go shoe shopping.
So, we’ll just have to see how things grow and change over the next 5 months. And if they do grow and change a lot, let’s hope it all goes back to normal sometime next year

My feet were HUGE when I was pregnant with Molly–I couldn’t even wear my shoes at work. I put slippers halfway on to get into the building, and then wore thick socks around my classroom. They did go back to regular size after it was all said and done.
Everything will become the “new normal” after the baby is born! I may not be the size 4 I used to be, but I wouldn’t trade my post-baby body for my children. Totally worth it!
