Happy Birthday (For Real) To My Husband!

Today my husband celebrates the big 3-0 (he probably doesn’t want me advertising his age).  But nonetheless, today is a special day to celebrate my husband!  And today must be his lucky day because he is happily watching a Battlestar Galatica marathon on TV and eagerly anticipating the two-hour series finale tonight at 9pm. 

I’m beat after a long day at work, so this is the perfect night to stay in.  We are ordering Chinese take-out for dinner (my husband loves Chinese food) and I’m making special brownies tonight (not THOSE kind of special brownies thank you very much).  Instead of a cake, the Husband found a receipe for orange brownies online (really they are blondies as there is no chocolate in them) courtsey of Paula Dean.  I hope they turn out OK!

I have a few wrapped presents for him to open later (I hope he likes them) and he’s received some very nice cards in the mail and some nice Facebook posts on his Wall (what did we ever do before Facebook?).  This weekend we are going to work around the house and take advantage of the (finally!) nice weather outside and do some yard work.  Fortunately the grass doesn’t need to be mowed yet, so we’re planning to clean up the yard and make it look presentable. 

All in all, we’re looking forward to a nice weekend to get some things done, but also relax too.
