Television, How I Love Thee

Posted by Melanie on Mar 17, 2009 in Blog |

Today was a sick day.  My throat started to feel sore and dry last night, and when I woke up this morning it was quite painful.  I didn’t sleep well at all, so I made the decision to call it a sick day and stay at home to rest.  Good choice on my part, because I feel a lot better than I did this morning.

Spending time on the couch today, I watched a lot of television.  For those of you who know me well, you know that I love television.  I always have.  On any given day, I would rather watch a couple espisodes of a favorite show than watch a movie (not that I don’t love movies).  There’s not much on during the day, even with cable, but between DVDs and my laptop, I was pretty well occupied on the couch.

I have a lot of “must see” television shows that I watch on a regular basis.  And if you check out our DVD collection, you’ll see a number of box sets of television series.  Below is my favorites list, current and old.  Compare it with your favorites!

24, Americon Idol, The Cosby Show, Everybody Loves Raymond, Family Guy, Felicity, Friends, Girl’s Next Door, Gossip Girl, Grey’s Anatomy, House, House Hunters, Jon & Kate Plus 8, Lie to Me, My House Is Worth What, Sex and the City, So You Think You Can Dance, Unwrapped, The West Wing

For my news selections, I enjoy The O’Reilly Factor, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Fox Report, Fox & Friends (gee, what station do I watch the most?), The Today Show and E! News (that’s news, right?).

It’s unfortunate we don’t live closer–I need a good tv buddy to dish with!!!!

O’Reilly is still a toad. I agree with a bit more than half of what he says, but his ego usually gets in the way. And the Today Show?? UGH. I know I probably have something to do with that trend, but I swear I can’t stomach it anymore. If I could only break you of those two and that “My House is Worth What?” annoyance, life would be good.
